Sunshine’s Faith Corner

Listen.  Listen to hopes, to opportunities, to moments of “what is.” The echoes are all around you. Listen quietly with your heart–and say, “Thank you.”

Be open to new life.  Today, a new sun arises.  Everything speaks of life: to cherish, to love, to share.

Be there.  It doesn’t mean you have to have all the answers, a definite solution or how to solve every problem.  Just being there is an affirmation of love that gives life.

Have a to-be list instead of a to-do list.  That’s it!

Emotions abound: feeling misunderstood, hurt, disappointed, defensive, angry, lost, betrayed.  Well, why not be different? Why not make a difference by forgiving, understanding, comforting, loving and being full of hope?

Impossible.  But is it?  Don’t be afraid to take a detour or just slow down long enough to see a new direction that is “possible”!

Be a smile of God’s goodness.  Flowers are the smiles of God’s goodness.  How much more to be a smile of kindness, harmony, peace and joy?  These can flower all year and everywhere!

Be great in little things.

Appreciate beauty.  Find the best in others.  To give oneself, to leave the world a little better whether by an act of forgiveness, a garden patch, a cared for child, or a redeemed social condition,
to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation, to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived for the well-being of others, then you have not just succeeded; you have become a blessing.

Have a generous heart.  Share a compliment with charity, and with a genuine heart-felt concern.

Be a light in the darkness.  Light begets light.  Give light, and become more: receive the light.  Pass it on!

When you look into the window of your soul, may you see the face of God’s love.  May the lamp of your life shine on all you meet today.

Go out into the darkness, put your hand into the hand of God, and trust greatly! One day you will realize that being gentle like Jesus is actually a sign of holy courage.  It’s more important to be compassionate than successful; it is where Faith and Life meet in Heart-Prayer.

Spiritual thoughts are everywhere: on a walk, in a hammock, on a crowded bus.  They are everywhere inviting you to ponder, adapt and rediscover newness in life’s adventures.

The best gifts the ones we don’t have to wrap: attention, enthusiasm, tenderness, good cheer, surprises, wonder, comfort, hope, charity, respect, peacefulness and a simple blessing.  Be yourself.

Be brave! Be kind!
